Affordable, efficient and compact – Get it.
When I saw the American Standard 2889.216.021 toilet, its capabilities, the customer experiences and the price - I couldn’t help writing a review.
It may not be the most efficient or the cheapest toilet out there, but its power is remarkable.
What’s even more remarkable is the level of efficiency it achieves with its power - which ultimately ends up making it a real bargain.
It has more to it however, so read on!
Go green in your tiny bathroom
The market for compact toilets, that are also efficient, isn’t wide.
That’s why American Standard 2889.216.021 toilet is considered to be a great option available for those on the market to find a toilet that fits their tiny bathrooms.
However, at 35 x 35 x 22 inches, it isn’t very small. It’s the design that’s space-saving.
With a round bowl, the front is also round. And it doesn’t have the comfort height like the 2886.216.021. It’s a little bit shorter and considered to be the standard height of a toilet.
What’s more, the toilet lacks nothing when it comes to style. Which also means that you would neither be sacrificing style nor power to save space.
Dual-flush in a whole new level
H2Option isn’t the only dual flush toilet out there, but it’s certainly one of the best.
With only 1 gallon of water per light flush, you can save heaps while flushing down liquid wastes.
But for solid wastes, the heavy flush uses 1.6 gallons of water. This is more than enough to send everything down in one flush - you don’t have to double flush and waste more water in the process.
They’re also super quiet - one of the quietest in the industry.
In the meantime, knowing which button is which isn’t confusing either. The push button on the top left side is for the light flush and it has three designer holes.
While at the same time, the right button has nine such holes - more holes indicate more power and it’s kind of obvious.
So this way, it’s easy to remember - and of course - guess. Your guests won’t be trying both buttons and wasting water before they get a hang of how it works.
Here is a video showing how effective the flushing is.
This certification from the US EPA adds value to your purchase on so many levels.
It not only increases the confidence of the buyers, but also makes them eligible to obtain a high rebate on taxes.
So if you do buy it, don’t forget to get in touch with your local authority. They might be already having such a project to encourage eco-friendly purchases.
Keeps it Clean
One of the best things about American Standard is that they’ve their own patented toilet surface.
They call it the EverClean surface and it’s named that way for a reason.
Unlike most older models, H2Option doesn’t dirty easily. This is because the EverClean surface is smooth and glossy enough to not let smears, smudges, dirt, mold and mildew on it.
And when you flush, everything gets washed away - leaving you hardly any washing to do.
As a result, you can have a toilet that’ll look new even after a few years of continuous use.
Cuts Installation Time and Money
Many believe that a two piece toilet is more complicating to install than a one piece toilet.
But American Standard has made it a thing of the past with its ‘Speed Connect’.
Even self-installation is possible if you follow the instructions clearly.
While you’ll obviously need help lifting the 92-pound unit up, the partially assembled bolts and grommets cut the time taken to mount it up by about 30%.
This way, if you’re planning on hiring a plumber, he would be happy and wouldn’t charge you an arm and a leg.
There’s no toilet seat, which you might already know, so don’t forget to order a seat that would fit the toilet.
American Standard sell their own set of seats and it would be better if you could find yourself a slow close seat. These seats won’t slam with an annoying thud.
What's the bottom line?
The 2889.216.021 is one of my favourite lines produced by the American Standard.
I think I’ve mentioned why it’s a favourite quite clearly throughout my review.
If interested, don’t forget to drop by Amazon.
However, if you’d prefer a similar yet more comfortable toilet, then I think the elongated model of the 2889.216.021 would fit in perfectly.
